ARAID
2000 keeps identical copies of data on
two SATA drives providing full data availability
if one drive fails
DES
MOINES, Iowa. September 15, 2004 –
Accordance Systems today announced that
their new ARAID 2000 is shipping. ARAID
2000 is an easily installable Serial
ATA (SATA) RAID storage solution for
businesses and individuals concerned
with data security and availability.
Compatible with popular operating systems
(Windows, Mac, Linux, etc), the ARAID
2000 automatically mirrors data onto
a second drive ensuring that data is
protected in case one drive dies or gets
corrupted. Because the RAID intelligence
is built into the ARAID 2000 design,
no additional controller boards or drivers
are required to use the device.
Not
only can users enjoy the high performance
and reliability of SATA, they are protecting
data at a reduced cost compared to other
RAID strategies. Each unit supports drive
hot-swapping, LCD status display, independent
locking drive trays, audible warning alarms,
and forced air cooling. The RAID architecture
utilizes Accordance ASIC technology that
performs RAID services in hardware with
less than 3% CPU overhead.
To
ensure maximum security, a drive can be
easily removed from the ARAID 2000 unit
and stored in a secure location for backup
with no service or data interruption. “Users
and IT managers no longer have to worry
about someone walking off with important
data, or a hard drive crashing, destroying
irreplaceable data,” said Steve Johnson,
President of Accordance Systems.
“The ARAID 2000 is the perfect data
availability solution for small to medium
size businesses and office networks with
a need for business continuity. It’s
a simple, versatile data storage workhorse.”
For
larger business and enterprise users, the
ARAID 2000 can be easily managed via SNMP
protocol communicating to popular network
management systems like Tivoli and HP OpenView,
as well as Accordance’s recently
announced OpManager. Accordance Systems
is the first company to support SNMP software
for this class of device in its line of
RAID products.
List
price for the ARAID 1500 (PATA version)
and ARAID 2000 is $370/each. These products
and the rest of Accordance product family
of IDE, SCSI, NAS and Micro-Servers RAID
storage products can be purchased online
at the Accordance website at: www.accordancesystems.com.
